About Us

Mgom'mera is a registered and licensed seed trader, based in Lilongwe, Malawi dedicated to promoting regenerative agriculture seed systems. We have persistently focused promoting drought tolerant and nutrient dense certified seed varieties for smallholder farmers, agro-processors, cooperatives, government programs and non-government programs. The company closely works with Agricultural Scientist to particularly, produce high yielding varieties of cereals, legumes, roots and tubers.

Particularly, we produce drought tolerant, high yielding and nutrient dense varieties of maize, legumes, cereals, roots and tubers. Our products include quality protein maize (QPM), and beta carotene maize on cereals and on legumes: NUA beans, cow peas rich in iron and zinc; Soya -Tikolore and CG 9 ground nuts rich in oils, and a high yielding pigeon pea-Mwai wathu Alimi and Mthawajune, Millet and Sorgum. On roots and tubers, ginger, turmeric, garlic are newly added along with orange flesh sweet potatoes and banana suckers as high value horticultural crops.

As such, Mgom’mera advocates for a gender based, market-oriented production. Mgom'mera seed offers a wide variety of drought tolerant, nutrient dense and high yield certified seed.

Our team offers vast experience in extension services and stakeholder support beyond food production. Our technical advisory services are designed to enable the farmer to not only grow crops knowledgeably, but profitably for improved livelihoods. This service supports projects and Programmes with technical services in farmer engagement, seed systems, and seed marketing enhanced by value addition ventures for more increased quality seed demand.

Further, our strong gender-focus is designed to enable women and youth to participate meaningfully in varied value chains. We have a strong track record of working with organizations who see agriculture and agribusiness as means of achieving these ends
